Waterfront Living in the Palm Beaches
Living in Florida is like being on vacation your entire life! It is a paradise for boaters, with over 4500 sq. miles of inland waterways and over 8,000 miles of coastline. Having a boat to most Floridians is as normal as having a car...there are numerous public ramps that you can also use if you decide to trailer your boat throughout the County or State...check out this great website for more information on boat ramps and marinas: http://floridamarineguide.com/florida_boating.html
The Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) also called the "waterway highway" or "the ditch," was once long peninsulas and islands that were parallel to the mainland. Back in the early 1900's, The Coast Line Canal & Transportation Co. and the State made an agreement to dredge and connect these canals and lagoons between Jacksonville and Miami...the Intracoastal now extends 500 miles down along the east coast of Florida.
Living in Palm Beach County offers so many diverse waterfront options to live in...whether you are looking for an older, small home on a fantastic deep water canal ready for renovation, or want a gigantic waterfront estate directly on the Intracoastal or ocean...the choices are endless, each neighborhood offers a unique flair. You have waterfront communities that have fixed bridges limiting the size of boat you can have and communities with deep water lots for the larger yachts and sailboats. The Wellman Team offers over 27 years of local Real Estate experience, we are boaters and know the waterways and communities...we can help you choose the perfect waterfront location.
